levyland carlsbad wedding - lindsey + chris

lindsey & chris found me on pinterest. that was the first cool part of this beautiful relationship, because who doesn't love pinterest. second cool part of this was that our consultation was a sit down breakfast date with myself, lindsey, chris and my other half, jonathan, at a cute cafe in pacific beach, san diego. san francisco is where they currently live and being that they never made it back down before the week of their wedding, we did engagement portraits just a few days prior to the wedding. i arrived at the levyland estate on a tuesday evening to check the place out before our session and i was immediately more excited for that weekend. the days to follow brought a huge storm and i remember sitting in my apartment the night before thinking this wind and rain better go away because i am way too in love with this venue.

we woke up to a partly cloudy day and by the time guests were arriving, sun was out. lindsey, chris and their families spent the week at the levyland estate (that is the way to do it!) ...they had events leading up to the wedding all week and even after the big day for guests to join in on if they were able. now, let me just tell you a little about their reception! everything was so unique, from the decor, to the food, to the throwing of the traditional events out the door. bridal party consisted of their two siblings and there was no fancy announcement or entrance into their dinner / reception...instead, lindsey, chris, their siblings and parents ran by all of the tables (maybe more of a power walk or skip!) cheers-ing and welcoming everyone with huge smiles on their faces, everyone quickly snapped into celebration mode. lindsey is a major foodie so that was very important to her, not buffet style, not plated style, but family style. each table was brought large dishes of the sides and main course and guests dug in just like you would at home. seriously, everything was so comfy and perfect. speeches, s'mores, slow motion camera fun and of course a lot of dancing to end the night! details on vendors and diy projects below, you will be shocked to see how much of this was done by lindsey and the family. amazing.
